About this Website
--------------------

With the origins of this website going back more than a decade, it has operated with its current identity since 2004. Some of the principal considerations of its design are standards conformance, design simplicity and browser compatibility.

Standards Conformance

Each page has been tested for conformance with the following international standards:

* Documents: XHTML 1.0 Transitional
* Style sheets: CSS level 2.1

There are links in the footer of each page to check this conformance.

Design Simplicity

This website has been designed with simplicity in mind. This means the site is completely free of such things as Active Server Pages, Java, AJAX, Adobe Flash and other complexities. The resultant web pages are easily rendered by virtually all modern web browsers.

There are a number of photographic slide shows included in the website. These slide shows are written in the PHP scripting language together with a pinch of JavaScript.

Browser Compatibility

Each page has been tested for compatibility with the following web browsers:

* Mozilla Firefox: Versions 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5
* Safari: Versions 3.2 and 4.0
* Internet Explorer: Versions 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0
* Camino: Version 1.6
* Google Chrome: Version 2.0
* and several other lesser known browsers.

Note: The use of Internet Explorer version 6.0 is discouraged.
